Telecom Egypt is Egypt's incumbent fixed-line operator and a major provider of wholesale and retail telecommunications services, including internet, data, and mobile services through its stake in Vodafone Egypt. Established in 1854, it is majority-owned by the Egyptian government and is dual-listed on the London Stock Exchange in addition to the EGX. The company controls a nationwide fiber-optic backbone.
