Gulf Energy Development is one of Thailand's largest independent power producers, primarily operating gas-fired combined-cycle plants under long-term power purchase agreements with EGAT. The company has diversified into LNG, digital infrastructure and data centers, and renewable energy, and in 2023 completed a merger creating True Corporation from True Move H and DTAC. Gulf is controlled by billionaire Sarath Ratanavadi.
