Colbún is one of Chile's largest electricity generation companies, operating hydroelectric, thermoelectric, solar, and wind plants across the country. The company sells power under long-term contracts to distribution companies and large customers through the Chilean national grid. It is majority-controlled by the Matte family through their Minera Valparaíso holding.
