Telecom Egypt is the country's incumbent fixed-line telecommunications operator and the sole provider of wholesale international data-transmission services. Approximately 70% of the company's shares are held by the Egyptian government, with the remainder in public float. The company has expanded into mobile services through its ownership stake in We, Egypt's fourth mobile operator.
