Adaro Energy Indonesia is one of the country's largest coal producers, operating the Adaro coal complex in South Kalimantan, which produces low-sulphur sub-bituminous thermal coal primarily for export to Asian power markets. The company has been diversifying into aluminium smelting and renewable energy through its subsidiaries. Adaro is controlled by the Thohir and Garibaldi families.
