Egypt Aluminum is a state-owned primary aluminum smelter located in Nag Hammadi, Upper Egypt, operating since 1975 and one of the largest aluminum producers in Africa. The company produces primary aluminum and aluminum alloys for domestic and export markets. Its energy-intensive operations are supplied by the Aswan High Dam hydroelectric complex.
