About the company
ONGC is India's largest crude oil and natural gas exploration and production company and one of the largest upstream companies in Asia, with major producing fields in the Mumbai offshore basin and other blocks. It is majority-owned by the Government of India and also holds a significant stake in HPCL, an oil refiner and marketer. Its subsidiary ONGC Videsh operates exploration and production assets in multiple countries.
