About the company
EDP Energias do Brasil is the Brazilian arm of the Portuguese-controlled EDP Group (itself majority-owned by China Three Gorges), operating electricity distribution companies in Espírito Santo and São Paulo states as well as renewable power generation assets including wind, solar, and small hydro plants. The company has been transitioning its generation portfolio toward renewables and expanding its distributed energy and energy services businesses. EDP Brasil was taken private from B3 in 2024 when the parent completed a delisting tender offer, though it remained listed on a reduced float basis through early 2026.
