Kumba Iron Ore is one of the world's largest producers and exporters of high-quality iron ore, operating the Sishen and Kolomela mines in the Northern Cape province of South Africa. The company is majority-owned by Anglo American plc and exports the bulk of its production through the Saldanha Bay port to steel mills primarily in China, Europe, and the Middle East. Kumba is known for the premium quality of its direct-shipping iron ore product.
