Fondul Proprietatea is a closed-end investment fund listed on the BVB and managed by Franklin Templeton, established to compensate Romanian citizens whose properties were confiscated during the communist era. Its portfolio is concentrated in unlisted and listed Romanian state-owned companies, with significant holdings in Hidroelectrica, Romgaz, Nuclearelectrica, and other energy and infrastructure assets. The fund has been conducting share buybacks to narrow the discount to net asset value.
