Nuclearelectrica is Romania's sole nuclear power producer, operating the Cernavodă Nuclear Power Plant on the Danube River, which supplies approximately 18–20% of Romania's electricity. The company is majority owned by the Romanian state. It is pursuing expansion plans to add two additional CANDU reactor units at Cernavodă.
