Life Insurance Corporation of India (LIC) is the country's largest life insurer and one of the largest institutional investors in Indian financial markets, with the Government of India holding a majority stake. LIC manages a vast portfolio of policies covering hundreds of millions of Indians. It listed on the NSE and BSE in May 2022 in India's largest-ever IPO at that time.
