Nuclearelectrica operates Romania's sole nuclear power plant at Cernavodă, which uses Canadian CANDU reactor technology and supplies approximately 20% of Romania's electricity. The state holds a majority stake and the company is developing two additional CANDU-6 units at Cernavodă in partnership with international investors. It is a key part of Romania's low-carbon electricity mix.
