Fondul Proprietatea is a closed-end investment fund established to compensate Romanian citizens whose properties were nationalised during the communist era. It holds minority stakes in major state-controlled companies including Hidroelectrica, Romgaz, Transgaz, and Nuclearelectrica. The fund is managed by Franklin Templeton and trades at a discount to its net asset value.
