Samsung Heavy Industries is one of South Korea's three major shipbuilders, constructing LNG carriers, drill ships, FPSOs (Floating Production, Storage and Offloading units), and container ships at its Geoje shipyard. The company focuses on high-value vessels and offshore structures and returned to profitability after a difficult period in the mid-2010s. Samsung Heavy Industries is affiliated with Samsung Group through Samsung C&T's shareholding.
