Korea Zinc is the world's largest zinc smelter by output and also produces lead, gold, silver, and copper through its integrated smelting operations in Ulsan, South Korea. The company has diversified into secondary battery materials and renewable energy as part of a long-term decarbonization strategy under its 'Troika Drive' initiative. Korea Zinc was the subject of a major corporate control contest in 2024–2025 between its founding family (Young Poong Group) and a competing shareholder coalition.
