ČEZ is the largest energy conglomerate in Central and Eastern Europe, engaged in electricity generation, distribution, and trading, as well as natural gas sales and coal extraction. The Czech state holds approximately 70% of its shares. It operates across the Czech Republic and in several other CEE countries including Romania, Slovakia, Poland, and Hungary.
