Colbún is one of Chile's largest electricity generators, with a portfolio of hydroelectric, thermal, solar, and wind power plants. It is controlled by the Matte Group and sells electricity both to regulated distribution companies and to large industrial customers under free-market contracts. The company is expanding its renewable energy capacity significantly.
