About the company
Hidroelectrica is Romania's largest electricity producer by installed capacity, generating power exclusively from hydroelectric sources across a nationwide network of power plants and dams. It is majority-owned by the Romanian state (via Fondul Proprietatea and direct ownership) and completed a landmark IPO on the Bucharest Stock Exchange in July 2023, the largest in BVB history. It is a key supplier to both the domestic market and electricity exporters.
