Rompetrol Rafinare operates the Petromidia refinery near Navodari on the Black Sea coast, one of the largest refineries in southeastern Europe by throughput capacity. The company is a subsidiary of KMG International, the international arm of Kazakhstan's state oil company KazMunayGas. It processes crude oil into refined products including gasoline, diesel, jet fuel, and petrochemicals for domestic and export markets.
