Transelectrica is Romania's national electricity transmission system operator, responsible for managing the national electricity grid and ensuring system balancing and cross-border interconnections. The Romanian state is the majority shareholder and the company operates under regulated tariffs set by the energy regulator ANRE. Transelectrica is also responsible for coordinating Romania's electricity market and is a member of the European network of transmission system operators ENTSO-E.
