Panorama económico e industrial

Togo is a low-income, least-developed economy in West Africa with a nominal GDP of approximately $9.93 billion (2024). The economy is diversified across agriculture (roughly 28% of GDP), industry including phosphate mining and cement (roughly 22%), and services (roughly 50%), with Lomé serving as a major regional transit and trade hub. Real GDP grew 6.5% in 2024 and 6.3% in 2025, driven by private investment, external demand, and growth in the tertiary sector. Key export commodities include phosphates, cotton, coffee, and cocoa, while re-exports through the Port of Lomé are also significant. Togo uses the BRVM, the regional stock exchange of the WAEMU zone headquartered in Abidjan, for equity and bond market access.

Acceso a brókers locales

Togolese equities and government bonds are traded exclusively on the BRVM, the regional stock exchange of the eight WAEMU member states, headquartered in Abidjan, Côte d'Ivoire. The BRVM operates entirely digitally via a dedicated satellite network, allowing brokers in Togo (Sociétés de Gestion et d'Intermédiation, SGIs) to trade remotely. International retail investors typically access BRVM-listed securities through specialist African brokerage platforms such as Daba Finance or through select pan-African broker-dealers. There are no Togo-incorporated companies directly listed on major US exchanges as ADRs.

Subvenciones No formal investment-migration programme

Togo does not operate a formal golden visa, residency-by-investment, or citizenship-by-investment programme. Standard long-term residence permits are available through the National Police for foreigners with qualifying work or business activity, but no dedicated investment-migration pathway exists.

Acceso para inversores extranjeros

Foreign nationals seeking long-term residence in Togo must apply for a residence permit through the Togolese National Police. The process is well-defined but applicants have reported administrative delays. Employers are legally required to prioritise Togolese nationals; foreign workers cannot exceed 20% of a workforce after five years of operation. French is the official language.
