Fondul Proprietatea is a closed-end investment fund created by the Romanian state as compensation to former property owners whose assets were confiscated under communist rule. The fund holds minority stakes in several major state-controlled Romanian companies, including Hidroelectrica, OMV Petrom, and Romgaz. It is managed by Franklin Templeton Investment Management and is listed on the Bucharest Stock Exchange.
