Panorama económico e industrial
Argentina is Latin America's third-largest economy by nominal GDP, with a diversified base spanning agribusiness, energy, mining, manufacturing, and services. The country is a major global exporter of soybeans, corn, beef, and wheat, and possesses the world's second-largest shale gas reserves and fourth-largest shale oil reserves at Vaca Muerta. In late 2023 President Javier Milei launched sweeping fiscal-adjustment and deregulation reforms that sharply reduced the fiscal deficit and brought annual inflation down from 211% in 2023 to approximately 118% in 2024 and further toward 30–35% by end-2025. Argentina reclassified as a frontier market by MSCI in 2019 following its 2018 currency crisis, and its equity market is traded on the BYMA (Bolsas y Mercados Argentinos). Persistent structural challenges include high inflation, recurring sovereign-debt stress, capital controls, and exchange-rate complexity.

Acceso a brókers locales
Foreign investors face significant practical constraints accessing Argentine equities directly, including capital controls (cepo cambiario), multiple exchange rates, and repatriation restrictions. US-based retail investors typically gain exposure through US-listed ADRs (e.g., YPF, MercadoLibre, Globant, Banco Macro, Telecom Argentina, BBVA Argentina, Edenor, Pampa Energia, Central Puerto, Loma Negra, IRSA, Arcos Dorados, Bioceres) or through EM/frontier-market ETFs. Locally, brokerage accounts can be opened with Argentine brokers (Accionistas, Bull Market, IOL invertironline) but require compliance with CNV regulations and currency-control frameworks. Non-residents should verify current CNV and BCRA regulations before transacting.

Reubicación y residencia
Visado de inversión / programa de residencia
Subvenciones No formal investment-migration programme
Argentina does not operate a formal golden visa or citizenship-by-investment programme. Foreign nationals may obtain temporary and then permanent residency through standard immigration categories (employment, retirement income, or family reunification). The country has a relatively accessible residency pathway for rentistas (those with demonstrable foreign income) and pensioners, but there is no minimum real-estate or fund investment threshold that automatically grants residency rights. Permanent residency leads to eventual eligibility for citizenship after two years of permanent residence.

Acceso para inversores extranjeros
Argentina allows foreign nationals to reside under the Rentista or Pensionado categories upon demonstrating regular foreign income; no specific investment quantum is mandated by law. The country offers a relatively low cost of living in USD terms, particularly in Buenos Aires, and issues DNI (national identity document) to permanent residents. Tax residency rules changed in 2018 and individuals who become Argentine tax residents are taxed on worldwide income; prospective relocators should obtain independent legal and tax advice.
