Panorama económico e industrial

Chile is a high-upper-middle-income economy in South America and one of Latin America's most stable and open markets. It is the world's largest copper producer and a top-tier lithium producer, making mining a cornerstone of national output and export revenues. The economy also features well-developed financial services, retail, utilities, forestry and pulp, and a growing services sector. Chile's GDP stood at approximately USD 330 billion in 2024, supported by a robust institutional framework, independent central bank, and deep pension fund system (AFP). Growth moderated in recent years amid global commodity price volatility, elevated inflation from energy tariff increases, and subdued domestic demand.

Reubicación y residencia

Subvenciones No formal investment-migration programme

Chile does not operate a formal Golden Visa or citizenship-by-investment programme in the conventional sense. Foreign nationals may obtain temporary residency through investment or work visas under general immigration law (Ley de Migración No. 21.325, in force since 2022), but there is no dedicated minimum-capital investment-migration track offering permanent residency or citizenship in exchange for a specified financial contribution. Foreigners who legally reside in Chile for five continuous years may apply for permanent residency and, thereafter, citizenship through the standard naturalization process.

Acceso para inversores extranjeros

Chile offers a standard temporary work/investment visa pathway under its 2022 immigration law. No dedicated investment-threshold residency programme exists. Qualified foreigners may apply for permanent residency after five years of continuous lawful residence and citizenship after five years of permanent residency. Chile has a relatively straightforward immigration bureaucracy by regional standards, and Santiago is regarded as one of Latin America's most liveable cities. Digital nomad and remote-worker visa options have been discussed legislatively but are not yet formally enacted as of mid-2026.
