Jordan is an upper-middle-income economy in the Southern Levant with a nominal GDP of approximately $53.4 billion as of 2024. The economy is services-dominated, with banking, tourism, phosphate and potash mining, pharmaceuticals, and information technology serving as principal industries. The country is a net energy importer with limited natural resources beyond mineral wealth, and relies significantly on foreign aid, remittances, and multilateral lending. Jordan hosts a large refugee population that places additional pressure on public finances and labour markets. The Jordanian dinar has been pegged to the US dollar since 1995, providing monetary stability but limiting exchange-rate flexibility.

Settlement is T+2. International investors may also access Jordanian equities indirectly through frontier-market or MENA-focused ETFs. Direct online access for retail foreign investors is limited; engagement is typically through a local broker or a regional prime broker.
