Aperçu économique et sectoriel
Niger is a landlocked, low-income West African nation whose economy rests on subsistence agriculture (employing roughly 87% of the labour force), uranium mining, and petroleum extraction. It is one of the world's largest uranium producers and began crude oil exports following the 2011 opening of the Agadem oilfield and the Zinder refinery. The 2023 military coup disrupted external aid flows and strained relations with ECOWAS and Western partners, adding political-risk headwinds to an already fragile fiscal position. GDP growth has nonetheless remained positive, supported by hydrocarbon output and agricultural recovery, though Niger ranks among the lowest countries globally on per-capita income and human development metrics. The economy uses the West African CFA Franc (XOF), pegged to the euro via the BCEAO monetary union.

Niger has no domestic stock exchange. Niger is a member state of the regional BRVM (Bourse Régionale des Valeurs Mobilières), headquartered in Abidjan, Côte d'Ivoire, which serves all eight WAEMU countries. There are no Niger-domiciled companies with primary BRVM listings of material size. International investors seeking BRVM exposure typically access it through brokers licensed by the CREPMF (regional regulator) or online platforms such as MyStocks.Africa that route orders to licensed BRVM dealing members. Direct US-broker access to the BRVM is very limited; specialist frontier-market or pan-African brokers are generally required.

Accès pour les investisseurs étrangers
Niger does not operate a golden visa or investment-migration scheme. Foreign nationals wishing to reside in Niger must apply through standard visa and residency permit channels administered by the Direction de la Surveillance du Territoire. The security environment (active Sahel insurgency, post-coup political instability) is a significant practical consideration for relocation. French is the official language.
