Panorama económico e industrial
Senegal is a lower-middle-income economy in West Africa with a diversified base spanning agriculture, fishing, phosphate and gold mining, petroleum refining, and services. The country recorded GDP growth of approximately 6.7% in 2024, boosted by the onset of offshore oil and gas production at the Sangomar field. Dakar serves as a major regional hub for trade, finance, and transport, while remittances and tourism are also significant contributors to the economy. Senegal uses the West African CFA franc (XOF), which is pegged to the euro, providing monetary stability. The country does not operate its own stock exchange; Senegalese companies access capital markets via the regional BRVM exchange headquartered in Abidjan, Côte d'Ivoire.

Acceso a brókers locales
Senegal has no domestic stock exchange. Senegalese-domiciled equities trade on the BRVM in Abidjan. Foreign investors can access BRVM-listed stocks through BRVM licensed dealing members (sociétés de gestion et d'intermédiation, SGIs) operating in Dakar. Most international retail brokers do not offer direct BRVM access; exposure is typically obtained via frontier/Africa-focused ETFs or through direct engagement with a BRVM-licensed SGI. Settlement is in XOF. Capital gains and dividend withholding tax rules are governed by OHADA and UEMOA frameworks.
