Panorama económico e industrial

Peru is the sixth-largest economy in Latin America, with a nominal GDP of approximately USD 289 billion in 2024. The economy is heavily driven by mining — particularly copper, gold, silver, and zinc — which dominate export earnings and the Bolsa de Valores de Lima. Services account for roughly half of GDP, while agriculture (including agro-exports such as asparagus, grapes, and blueberries), fishing, and natural gas are additional pillars. Peru holds significant natural resource potential and maintains a broad web of trade agreements, though recurring political instability has weighed on investor confidence and growth since 2020. Real GDP rebounded to an estimated 3.0–3.2% growth in 2024 after a mild contraction in 2023.
