Panorama económico e industrial
Slovakia is a small, open, upper-middle-income EU member state whose economy is heavily anchored in manufacturing, particularly automobile production — it is one of the world's largest car producers per capita. Major export industries include vehicles and parts, machinery and electrical equipment, nuclear reactors, iron and steel, and chemicals. The country adopted the euro in 2009 and operates as a fully integrated member of the EU single market and Schengen Area. Services account for approximately 60% of GDP, industry around 28.5%, and agriculture roughly 2%. GDP growth has slowed in 2025–2026 amid fiscal consolidation pressures, elevated inflation driven by energy prices, and global trade uncertainty.

Acceso a brókers locales
The BSSE is a small and illiquid equity market; its most economically significant companies (Volkswagen Slovakia, Samsung SDI Slovakia, U.S. Steel Košice) are subsidiaries of foreign multinationals and are not publicly listed on the exchange. The listed equity universe is dominated by financial-sector firms, utilities, and a small number of industrial and tourism holdings. Most international brokers do not offer direct BSSE equity trading; exposure is typically gained via regional or broad-EM ETFs. Bond market activity on BSSE is proportionally larger than the equity segment.

Reubicación y residencia
Visado de inversión / programa de residencia
Subvenciones No formal investment-migration programme
Slovakia does not operate a formal golden visa or citizenship-by-investment programme. Foreign nationals can obtain temporary residency through standard business-purpose pathways, such as establishing a Slovak s.r.o. (limited liability company) with a minimum share capital of €5,000, or by registering as self-employed. Real estate purchase alone does not confer a residence permit. Full Schengen-area mobility applies to holders of Slovak residency permits.

Acceso para inversores extranjeros
Slovakia is an EU and Schengen member using the euro. Non-EU nationals may obtain temporary residency through business establishment or employment; no passive investment route exists. The cost of living is below the Western European average. Bratislava has a growing expat community due to proximity to Vienna.
